About the Gypsy Express Organization...

Gypsy Express, Incorporated (GX) was formed on October 5, 2000 under the provisions of Chapter 10 of Title 13.1 of the Code of Virginia (1950, 1999 Rep. Vol.). It  was granted federal tax exempt status effective January 23, 2001.  The group is a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) organization.
 
GX is a not for profit organization, dedicated to the charitable purpose of preserving, maintaining and operating the mini train in Gypsy Hill Park, Staunton, Virginia.

All funds are used for train operation, maintenance, and overall park improvement. Donations are fully tax-deductible.

GX is operated entirely by volunteers and has no paid staff. Its Board of Directors meets regularly throughout the year. GX volunteers help in one or more of six work areas – engine maintenance, track maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, engineers, conductors, and ticket sellers.
