The Friends provide volunteer support and raise funds that enhance the programming, technology and collections of the Staunton Public Library. We invite you to join us in support of our Library. Donations to the Friends are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and can be received by Library staff if clearly designated or can be mailed to Friends of the Staunton Public Library, 1 Churchville Avenue, Staunton, Virginia 24401.

Membership

Membership is available at several levels:
▪ Individual memberships are $10.00
▪ Family memberships are $15.00
▪ Corporate memberships are $25.00
▪ Individual Life Memberships are $150.00
Membership forms are available at the circulation desks in the Library.

Book Sales

The Friends have major book sales twice a year on the second floor of the Library and ongoing sales from book carts near the circulation desks. Book sales are our major fund raisers and we seek donated materials and volunteer help. Donated books in good condition are accepted at the first floor circulation desk during Library hours. See our donation guidelines here. To volunteer to help at the Book Sale, please call 332-3902.

▪ Wednesday, October 12, 6:00 - 8:30 pm Member’s Preview (Memberships available at the door)
▪ Thursday, October 13 from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm
▪ Friday, October 14 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
▪ Saturday, October 15 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Saturday is Bag Sale Day, books cost $3 per bag. After 1:00 pm, books are free for students, teachers and representatives of nonprofit organizations.

Annual Meeting

Our Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 6:30 pm. A short business meeting will be followed at 7:15 pm by a special program presented by Clann Mhor, an organization researching the efforts of Irish immigrants and slaves to build the railroad tunnels in Augusta and Albemarle Counties in the 1850s.
