lizzy hillWhether you’re a teen looking for a new fantasy series, a 10-year-old searching for a sports-themed adventure, or a parent wanting a picture book recommendation, I am here to help!

When it comes to teen literature, I tend to read contemporary realistic fiction from authors like John Green, Matthew Quick, and Lauren Oliver. Still, some of my favorite YA books from the past few years have been supernatural horror novels and fantasy books, like Sabaa Tahir's An Ember in the Ashes series.  My favorite recent juvenile titles are from a variety of genres as well:  The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley (historical fiction), The Wild Robot by Peter Brown (sci-fi), Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend (fantasy), and The Last Kids on Earth series by Max Brallier (humor/adventure).

I read any graphic novel that I can get my hands on, from works for beginning readers to LGBTQ+ titles for teens to the latest releases from Marvel and DC.  True crime podcasts and documentaries are fascinating to me, and I seek out nonfiction books and movies about true crime. And even though I learn towards kids’ books and graphic novels, my favorite series of all time is A Song of Ice and Fire (A Game of Thrones) by George R. R. Martin!
