Voter Registration Deadline is Oct. 15

SEPTEMBER 25, 2018 — With the Nov. 6 election approaching, Staunton's registrar is reminding citizens to be sure they have registered to vote or updated their voter registration information before the Oct. 15 deadline.

Citizens may check their registration status and registered address online, or call the registrar’s office for assistance.

U.S. House of Representatives candidates for the 6th Congressional district of Virginia are:

  • Democratic Party: Jennifer Lynn Lewis
  • Republican Party: Ben L. Cline

Virginia's candidates for the U.S. Senate are:

  • Democratic Party: Timothy M. Kaine
  • Libertarian Party: Matt J. Waters
  • Republican Party: Corey A. Stewart

Voting Information

Residents can locate their voting ward online or call the registrar’s office for assistance.

Absentee voting is now open, and the registrar’s office will be open for in-person absentee voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Saturday before all general elections, in addition to regular office hours. The registrar’s office is located on the first floor of City Hall, beside the treasurer’s office.
