UPDATE: 8 p.m., Dec. 9, 2018

City administrative offices and the Staunton Public Library will be operating on a delay and open at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10.

DECEMBER 9, 2018 — The City of Staunton has rescheduled Monday's trash and recycling collection due to the winter storm.

Those who typically receive trash and recycling pickup on Monday will instead receive pickup on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Tuesday's collection is still on schedule. Should Tuesday's schedule change, the City will update its website with the latest information.

Leaf collection and pickup of brush and debris from the November ice storm will be further delayed as City crews focus on snow removal.

The City encourages everyone to stay off of the roads if at all possible, as conditions are treacherous and icy in patches. Snow plowing is well underway, with priority given to major thoroughfares to make way for emergency vehicles.
