2019 QCMM Festival: Traffic & Parking Alerts

AUGUST 28, 2019 — A portion of the downtown area will be closed to through traffic beginning at 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27 and continuing through 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29 for the Queen City Mischief & Magic festival.

Street Closures QCMM

Parking Restrictions

Parking restrictions on several downtown streets will go into effect one hour before street closures at 4 p.m. on Friday and continue through 6 p.m., Sunday. Parking will not be allowed on the following streets:

  • Augusta St. from Johnson to Frederick streets
  • Byers St.
  • Beverley St. from Lewis to Market streets
  • New St. from Johnson to Frederick streets
  • South Lewis St. from Johnson St. to Middlebrook Ave.

All downtown public parking facilities will be open to the public for parking, except for the Wharf parking lot.

For All City Residents

The City is encouraging all residents to prepare for significant traffic delays and disruptions in and around downtown and to plan travel routes accordingly.

The Staunton Police Department will post fliers on vehicles parked downtown in advance of the event as a reminder of street closures and parking restrictions. Vehicles located in no-parking zones after 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 will be subject to towing

For Downtown Residents

QCMM organizers will host an informational meeting for downtown residents at 6 p.m., Aug. 12 at Baja Bean Co. to address parking and other resident matters related to the event.

All downtown public parking facilities will be open to the public and downtown residents for parking, except for the Wharf parking lot.

For Downtown Businesses

If you operate a downtown business, the Staunton Downtown Development Association (SDDA) will provide support and instructions in advance of the QCMM festival. Watch for emails regarding the event and stay tuned to the SDDA Facebook page for the latest.

For Visitors

All downtown public parking facilities, except for the Wharf parking lot, will be open to the public. Event organizers are also encouraging visitors to use satellite parking at Federated Auto Parts on Saturday. Shuttles will run from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. from the Federated lot to downtown on Saturday only.

Parking for people with disabilities will be available at City National Bank, 38 N. Central Ave., and at Central United Methodist Church, 14, N. Lewis St.
