City Schedules for Thanksgiving Holiday

Nov. 13, 2025 – The schedules for City of Staunton offices and facilities will be modified in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27–28.

Trash CollectionThanksgiving Schedules (1)

Residential: Residential trash regularly scheduled for pick up on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, will be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Downtown Central Business District: CBD customers will receive trash collection Wednesday, Nov. 26, and Saturday, Nov. 29, with normal pickup resuming Monday, Dec. 1.

Recycling Center Hours
The Recycling Center will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. It will reopen with regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 29.

Library Hours
The Staunton Public Library will be closing early, at 5 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. The library will return to its normal schedule on Saturday, Nov. 29. The outdoor book drop will be open for returns, and digital books and other online resources are available 24/7 at www.StauntonLibrary.org.

Administrative Office Hours
The City of Staunton’s administrative offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. Regular hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 1.
