Jan. 8, 2026 – City of Staunton offices and facilities will operate on modified schedules in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 19.

Trash Collection

 Residential: Residential trash normally collected on Monday, Jan. 19, will be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Downtown Central Business District: CBD customers will receive trash collection on Tuesday, Jan. 20, and additionally on Wednesday, Jan. 21, with normal pickup resuming for the remaining days of the week.

Recycling Center Hours
The Recycling Center will be closed Monday, Jan. 19, and will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Library Hours
The Staunton Public Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 and will return to its normal schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 20. The outdoor book drop will remain open for returns, and digital books and other online resources are available 24/7 at www.StauntonLibrary.org.

Administrative Office Hours
City of Staunton’s administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
