City Council Regular Meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.   The Council typically holds a work session before each regular meeting that is also open to the public. Agendas for each meeting are posted on this page on the Friday before a regular Council meeting. In the event of a change in the meeting schedule, such as a special called meeting or a canceled meeting, a notice will be posted in advance.

Council Attendance at Council-Appointed Boards or Commissions Meetings

The Staunton City Council occasionally has three or more members attend Council-appointed board and commission meetings as well as Staunton School Board meetings. Therefore, pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, this serves as the official notice that the Staunton City Council may convene a meeting at any Council-appointed board or commission meeting or a Staunton School Board meeting. 

The locations, times, and dates of Council-appointed board and commission meetings are found on the City’s website as well as the bulletin board across from the Staunton City Clerk’s Office on the first floor of Staunton City Hall. The locations, times, and dates of the Staunton School Board meetings are found on the School Board’s website as well as in the School Board office located on the second floor of Staunton City Hall.
