Citizen University LogoStaunton Citizen University (SCU) is an exciting opportunity for residents to participate in a hands-on learning program about how our local government works and make direct connections with the people who manage it.

The 10-week course is designed to give participants streamlined, but robust exposure to the key departments of the city.  The program is also a way for city staff and officials to learn from residents and gather feedback about the city’s performance and services.

SCU is a great way to nurture informed and engaged residents across the city. Many SCU alum go on to volunteer or serve the city on appointed boards and commissions. Sessions will be held annually in the fall.
