The Finance Department administers financial management and operations for the City of Staunton and Staunton City Schools. The team takes pride in managing the City’s finances in an efficient, ethical and transparent manner. To see how the City’s doing, view our financials.
The Finance Department is also responsible for developing and managing an annual budget and Capital Improvement Plan for both the City and school division, as well as investment management, grant administration, the procurement of goods and services, risk management, inventory, payroll and all financial reporting and reconciliation.
Significant functions provided by the Finance Department include:
- Managing procurement, including bids, contracts, RFP’s and quotes
- Utility billing and collections
- Coordination of the annual audit and preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
- Preparation of payroll for the City and Schools
- Accounts payable for the City and Schools
