The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), formerly the CAFR, is a full disclosure statement of all financial information necessary to help the public gain an understanding of the City’s financial activities and condition. The City undergoes a single annual audit by an independent certified public accounted as required by the Code of Virginia and in conformity with federal requirements. 

The City has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association each year since 1985.
