Welcome to the Staunton Public Library
The Staunton Public Library is located at the intersection of Churchville Avenue and North Augusta Street. City transit, particularly the North Loop Trolley, makes regular stops near the Library Monday through Friday.
After Library hours, you may return materials in the outdoor book drop, located near the Library’s entrance.
The following items will not be accepted in the drop box:
- Rosetta Stone materials
- Nature backpacks
Talking Book Center
The Staunton Talking Book Center is a free public library service to area citizens who are unable to read standard print material. It is a sub-regional library of the National Library Service for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NLS).
Library to Host Astronomer & Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
The Staunton Public Library will host astronomer Kevin Manning for two astronomy programs on July 17. The Library will also host a viewing party for the solar eclipse on Aug. 21.

Library to Host Genealogy Workshop & Offer New Genealogy Research Service
The Staunton Public Library will hold a three-part genealogy workshop series during the month of June. The Library is also offering a new research tool for those seeking more info about their ancestry.

Staunton Hires New Library Director
Sarah Skrobis has been named the director of library services for the Staunton Public Library, succeeding Ruth Arnold who will retire at the end of June after 26 years.
