There are many ways to support the library you love and make a difference in the Staunton community. This is your library, and we are stronger with you: thank you for helping SPL thrive!

Become a Friend of the Staunton Library

The Friends of the Staunton Library's dues, advocacy, and volunteer efforts help make sure that our library has the resources it needs and that everyone knows about the materials, programs, and services available to people of all ages through their public library. You can become a member for as little as $10 per year or make a financial gift without joining. The Friends of the Staunton Library is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Cash, checks, credit card/Paypal accepted.

Give to the Talking Book Center

Make a financial gift in support of local accessible public library services for readers who are blind, low vision, or print disabled. Your generosity helps ensure #ThatAllMayRead. The Talking Book Center is a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Cash, checks, credit card/Paypal, and Venmo accepted.

Leave a Legacy with the Staunton Library Foundation

The Staunton Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) committed to supporting future capital needs for the library. As a 501(c)(3), gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. There are many ways to give, such as gift of cash, securities, or other assets. There are also several methods of planned giving, including making a bequest in a will or through life insurance.

Book and Media Donations

Upcoming donation dates will be announced in the spring of 2026!

Donations are accepted at Christ Lutheran Church at 2807 North Augusta Street.  Please be sure to leave your donations with a Friend's volunteer on the designated collection days and we will make sure they are put to good use! Just a reminder, the library requests that you do NOT leave donated materials at the library or in the outside drop boxes. This causes a number of issues for the library staff.

Donations that we cannot accept:

  • Items with missing/torn covers, water damage, mildew or loose pages
  • Reader's Digest Condensed Books
  • Encyclopedias
  • Magazines or Periodicals
  • Items older than 5 years in these subjects: medical & health, travel, and computer and software manuals
