To be a teen volunteer at Staunton Public Library, I agree to the following conditions:

  • I agree to follow SPL rules and procedures.
  • I will communicate with the Youth Services Librarian about my schedule.
  • I understand that the Library is not responsible for scheduling me for all my required volunteer hours by the due date, especially if there is limited time.
  • I agree to perform volunteer tasks during my volunteer shifts.
  • I agree to arrange my own transportation to and from my shifts.
  • I know that volunteering at SPL does not guarantee future employment, paid or unpaid, at the Library or with the City of Staunton.

Before you can start volunteering your parent/guardian will be required to sign a consent form and you will be required to sign a City of Staunton volunteer release form. These can be completed in person at your first scheduled shift or the Librarian can give you paperwork to take home and return.
