Staunton Recreation's Action Skate Park is located in Gypsy Hill Park near Lake Tams and the gymnasium. Originally constructed in 2003, the skate park has been updated to keep current with skate trends thanks to generous donations.

Accidents, injuries or broken equipment should be reported to the Recreation Department at 540.332.3945.

  • Monday-Thursday: 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Friday-Sunday: 6 a.m. to dusk

The Staunton Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to close the Action Park or change the hours as necessary.


  • Skateboards, inline skates, scooters and BMX bikes are welcome
  • Only persons with allowable equipment permitted on the skate pad
  • No spectators permitted on the skate pad
  • Action sports are hazardous recreational activities and therefore helmets, knee pads, wrist guards and elbow pads are strongly recommended
  • Ride at your own risk. There are certain inherent risks in the use of the action park including but not limited to bodily injury and/or death
  • Respect others and share the space
  • No glass containers or alcoholic beverages
  • No smoking
  • Patrons must abide by Staunton Parks & Recreation rules and policies at all times
  • Put all trash and recyclables in appropriate receptacles
  • Swearing, fighting and bad attitudes will not be tolerated
  • Those who violate skate park rules will be removed from the park
