About
The Gypsy Hill Walking Club is a community walking club organized by Staunton Parks and Recreation for the purpose of promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Walking is a low-impact, light cardio workout providing a wide range of health benefits. The Walking Club meets
regularly at 9 a.m. on Friday mornings in Gypsy Hill Park at the bandstand. Members are not required to attend the
group walk and may complete their walking anytime and anyplace at their convenience.
As a walking club member your miles are recorded weekly and posted online. For 2018, our sponsor, Deno’s Subway
on North Augusta Street, has provided us with weekly gift certificates to help us stay energized and eat fresh! Club members who submit their weekly miles are entered into a drawing to win that week’s Subway gift certificate.
Members
The club comprises community members in the Staunton/August County area. All ages are welcome. Walking club
members can either email or drop off their weekly walked miles in the drop box located in Gypsy Hill Park.
