2026 Election Season

Early Voting is held in City Hall at the Voter Registration office.

All qualified City of Staunton voters are eligible to vote during Early Voting.

If voting on Election Day, report to the assigned precinct!

Please Note: The Voter Registration office opens at 8:30 a.m. during the week, but voting begins promptly at 9 a.m.!

Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?

Note: The statewide primary election date was changed from the original date of June 16, 2026 by the General Assembly.

July 19  Open for Sunday Voting, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

July 24  Last day to request a mailed absentee ballot

July 24  Last day to update a voter registration or register to vote

July 25  Open for Saturday Voting, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

July 26   Open for Sunday Voting, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Aug. 1     Last day! Open for Saturday Voting, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Aug. 4     ELECTION DAY! Vote at your precinct from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.
