Councilwoman Mead, a native of Minnesota farming country, came to Staunton in 2010 after living in Georgia, Nevada and Central Virginia during her professional career. She and her husband, Bob, have two grown children who live in the Staunton area.


Retired in 2008 from a 32-year career in financial services. Worked with non-profit organizations in Staunton from 2010 to 2017.
